The donor's father was a soldier in the US Army in Germany and brought this book home with him after the end of World War II.
Otto Bermann was deported to Dachau concentration camp in May 1938 and transferred to Buchenwald concentration camp in September 1938, from where he was released at the end of April 1939. He still managed to escape to Great Britain in 1939; his name can be found in the 1939 list of names of the Kitchener Camps (external link).
