Hamburger Fleet near Herrengraben
View from the Schaarsteinwegsbrücke bridge into the Herrengrabenfleet. The backs of the half-timbered houses on the Herrengraben can be seen on the left-hand side of the picture, while the canal side of the old orphanage in Admiralitätsstraße can be seen on the right. On the turbulent water, reflecting the cloudy sky, numerous houseboats and barges are moored side by side on the canal walls. Only a narrow passageway remains between them in the centre of the canal, across which the viewer's gaze is drawn to the Powder Tower Bridge in the background.
