Three-quarter portrait, Sitting man. Signed on the stone, numbered lower left: Kriehuber 836; on verso lower left collector's mark Heinrich Schwarz [Lugt 1372, print in blue]; inscribed on verso lower right: Joh. Karl Graf Dietrichstein 1775-1864 | W. 387 [catalogue raisonné Wurzbach].

Provenance

October 1945 donation by Dr. Hans Boerner, Leipzig; on the reverse collector's mark Heinrich Schwarz [Lugt 1372, print in blue], Austrian art historian and collector of Jewish origin, lived in Vienna and emigrated in 1939 and therefore had to sell his collection; it is not known when and under what circumstances Boerner acquired this sheet; ongoing restitution process.
