Jug handle with relief attache
Bronze with grey-green patina; belonged to a chased bronze jug, which is no longer preserved; handle sat on the rim of the mouth; ram's head at the upper end looked into the jug; pearl bars and a palmette on the back of the handle, below on the lower attachment attache a relief image: a woman sits astride a cretos, wearing a helmet (so-called Chalcidian form) in her left hand. It is one of the Nereids who, together with the sea goddess Thetis, the mother of Achilles, brought the hero new weapons across the sea.
