River landscape with fishermen
The painting shows a river landscape with some sailing boats in the middle ground, while in the foreground there are fishing boats and several fishermen at work. In the foremost boat, which is at the lower edge of the picture, two men are sitting, one of whom is bending over the edge of the boat to take a fish basket out of the water. At the right edge of the picture three fishermen pull a net out of the water. On the opposite side of the river there is a windmill on the left.
The work is signed and dated "J. v. Goyen 1632".
