Spice jar
Depiction: Minerva (head), Silen (head), Leaf ornament;
Findings: On the outside of the Stehrands: Master's mark 'IBS in transverse rectangle (with beveled corners)', for Johann Balthasar Stenglin (master 1765, died 1826, workshop continuation by Stenglins widow until 1843), the mark is in two places on the edge of the Struck, one after the other, one above the other: it seems to be the hallmark of another variant of the master's mark; Maker's mark / dealer's mark 'SEETHALER in transverse rectangle', for Johann Alois Seethaler (master 1796, died 1835), probably another variant of the master's mark; Mark 'Pyr over A in high oval', for Augsburg, 1815-1816. On the underside of the base ring: handwritten with red color "39/89" (Inv. No. of the Bavarian National Museum)./A.G., 2018
