Standing man, rear view, short sword on belt with a curved handle, hat with wide brim, simple clothing, waistcoat, trousers, shirt, boots, muscular, looking down, legs slightly bent, a scribble in the left corner, with pen and ink, figure not recognisable

Auction at Rudolph Lepke's auction house, Berlin, on 14 March 1905, sale to "Greve"; probably during the war, at the latest since 9 July 1945 until today Lippische Landesbibliothek Detmold, initially handed over in trust by the British Military Government Detmold, since 20 July 1945 officially handed over for safekeeping.
