Description
Bust of bare-breasted Venus, at the lower edge of the picture parts of a garment can be seen. She wears a red ribbon in her dark brown hair and holds in her right hand the arrow of Cupid with its tip diagonally downwards. On the back of the painting there is an auction number of Hans W. Lange (73).
Provenance
Until January 1943 probably in unknown collection in Dresden. In the auction at Hans. W. Lange submitted from 27 to 29 January 1943 as lot no. 73 (cipher "22. Dresden"). It was offered as an addition to three female breast pictures in the Rotari style. Acquired there by the director of the Bomann Museum.
