Description
A chandelier with 42 candles. Later, 24 additional bronze arms were added, on which 24 incandescent bulbs were mounted. In addition, the chandeliers are supplied with further 24 sockets and light bulbs, which are attached to 24 bronze arms (a total of 66 light spots after electrification).
Provenance
Dresden Castle, 2nd floor NF, banquet hall; In inventory list no. 1 dated January 31, 1920, as part of the settlement agreement between the Free State of Saxony and the former royal house of 1924, 10 large bronze chandeliers with protective caps are listed in the banquet hall, which are marked in red as belonging to the state; The exact date of removal is not on record, but the removal measures were completed in the summer of 1944. The chandelier was probably transported to its relocation site at Rammenau Castle on April 26, 1944. Nothing is known about the circumstances surrounding the loss of this object.It is assumed that the object was lost in connection with the events of the Second World War.
