Description
Mirror glass (mercury amalgam mirror) with circumferential phase, fire-gilded, arms brass cast, 3 light fittings electrified after 1901/02
Provenance
Dresden Castle, North Wing, 1st floor, Hall of Mirrors; Listed in inventory no. 1 of 31 January 1920 as part of the settlement agreement between the Free State of Saxony and the former royal house of 1924; An exact date of removal is not on record, the measures were completed in the summer of 1944. The sconces of the Hall of Mirrors were probably transported to the Rammenau Castle relocation site on 26 April 1944; Nothing is known about the circumstances of the loss of this object; A loss in connection with the events of the 2nd World War is suspected.
