Description
Neo-baroque trumeau mirror. Large pillar mirror with white-painted wooden frame.
According to a notification about the delivery of the game glasses dated 26 August 1874: glaces 282 x 140
Provenance
Created in 1874 in the course of the remodelling of the French Gallery in the Georgen Building. For decades, the two mirrors were located in room 531 (anteroom to the French Gallery) of the Dresden Castle; in accordance with the 1924 settlement agreement, they fell to the Free State of Saxony; In 1944, mirrors and mirror parts and wall mirrors were transported from the Dresden Castle to a relocation site (Rammenau or Schleinitz Castle); there is no evidence of a return transfer; Circumstances of loss unknown. A loss in connection with the events of the Second World War is assumed.
