Description
Allegorical depiction of the European continent: a young emperor standing on a rocaille pedestal, with the left foot forward; completely clothed in brown scale armour with a red ermine coat, a red sash around the waist, a yellow ribbon with a gilt cross on the chest as well as a high crimson crown with gilt bands and eight gilt spikes on curly hair; holding sceptre and imperial orb in his hands.
Provenance
Purchased on December 10th 1927 by Dr. Joh. Jacobs, in Munich at the Hugo Helbing auction.
