The vessel in the shape of a tilted, firing mortar has two open-worked handles and stands, supported by four dolphins, on a square base with a stepped profile; the front side is decorated with a fire-spitting dragon; on the opposite side, there is a stipple-engraved inscription: "Der fliegende Geist bin ich genant: Ein jeder mich noch nicht recht erkant. Wenn aus mir meine Jungen fliegen: Thut mancher sich durch mich betriegen."; maker's mark on the base.
