Description
Short stem, node. Blossom bouquet as the cover knob. Inscription: Ampliſsimo / Reipublicae Dresdensis / Ordini Senatorio / pro amicitia / per denos ter nunc annos / sine fuco praestita / grati animi / teſseram hanc levidensem / d. d. d. / Gottlieb Ritter / fasces tertium tradens / Consulares / Cal. May MDCCXLIII. On the reverse the coat of arms of the Knights of Hennersdorf, elevated to the imperial nobility in 1616. Marked with Dresden assay mark and the maker's mark of the Dresden goldsmith Samuel Gaudig.
Provenance
The object was kept in the Dresden City Hall (seat of the Dresden City Museum) until May 1945. It was stored there in the cellar together with the other arts and crafts exhibits of the museum - packed in boxes. Lost since the end of the war.
