Description
Kat. Alte Pinakothek 1904, Nr. 1259. - Die hl. Jungfrau schwebt, von Engeln getragen und begleitet, auf Wolken sitzend, zum Himmel empor. Die unten versammelten Apostel blicken staunend teils in das Grab, teils zu der Verklärten empor. Überlebensgroße Figuren. Vom Kurfürsten Johann Willhelm von der Pfalz für die Jesuitenkirche in Neuburg als Ersatz für das jüngste Gericht von Rubens bestellt, doch noch vor Vollendung 1692 zurückbehalten und in der Galerie zu Düsseldorf ausgestellt (Inventarbeschreibung).

1806 from the Düsseldorf Gallery; object is considered lost, was probably destroyed by war; last found in the basement of the Neue Pinakothek in Munich
