Judith with the head of Holofernes

The dimensions are said to be similar to those of the Allori painting in the Palazzo Pitti in Florence (ie the information is estimated to be in memory).

Provenance

Bought around 1865 in Italy by baron Adolf von Deichmann, inherited to his daughter Hilda, Countess of Bismarck-Osten in Plathe, Pommern. 1945 in Sondershausen/ Thuringia, and then probably as loan to the Grassi Museum, Leipzig, where it gets lost.
