Description
In a dreamlike mountain valley, overgrown with trees and bushes in a strange arrangement, there are many people in a row going across the picture, almost equally spaced, busy with various kinds of forest thrush and other forestry work. Ridged, angular and jagged, exaggerated movements of the individual give the whole a ghostly fascinating expression. This is further enhanced by the background illuminated in icy cobalt blue, which seems to absorb the olive green, pearly gray overall tone of the front landscape.
