("The two pastels were taken from our home : 37 Allée Saint Cucufa, Vaucresson, (S&O), France. We left the house in June 1940 and the surviving members of the family came back to it in October 1944. In the meantime the content of the house was partially removed by the German Authorities to furnish several houses taken over by various services of the German Army . This happened from 1940 to 1943. In 1943 whatever was left was taken and transported to Germany.")
