Porcelain vase and cover
Shape: body with square plinth. The profiled foot contrasted with nodus, at the lower edge a revolving pearl ornament. Bowl-shaped lower body. Between the tappering body and the spherical lower part shiny metallic rings. The upper edge extended outward. The cover sits in an apron recessed from the rim. Slightly convex cover with a pine-shaped knob.
Décor: Plinth, nodus and pine knob gilded. Base, bowl, upper part of the goblet-shaped body and cover with blue ground and golden onglaze décor. On the foot "N" and tendrils; on the bowl eagles and floral motifs; on the upper rim swans and floral motifs; On the cover an imperial crown in a laurel wreath. On the concave part of the body enamel painting: a surrounding scene with Napoleon on a white horse, surrounded by his officers.
Annotation: Based on the photos, it can be supposed that the 72 cm high vase was made of several parts and connected with gilded brass mountings. Thus, the plinth, a part of the nodus and the pine knob could be made of gilded brass. Presumably, the rings between the bowl and the upper part served this purpose too. It can be distinctly seen that the bowl is held by four open-worked, leaf-shaped segments, and the knob is also mounted on the cover.
