Saint Jerome
Bange-WV, Nr.: 595 (Α. N. 893. Inv. 1201.) Titel: Der hl. Hieronymus. The saint, dressed in a loincloth, kneels in front of a crucifix on the far right, holding a stone in his right hand. On the left, a little back, the saint in front of the hut is about to pull the thorn out of the lion's paw. Further back, a procession of horsemen moving towards a town. On the city wall the inscription: ROMA - SPQR. Edge decorated by incised teeth. Other examples, e.g. the one in the Louvre (shown at Molinier), show the inscription at the bottom edge: IHOANNIS . FRANCISI . PARVENSIS . OPVS . half relief. Bronze, gilded. H. 5,3, Br. 8,1 cm. At the margins the eyelet is broken out. Later pierced below;
