Description
Tropical fruits in a faience dish on a grey table; the twig of an orange tree, bearing fruits and a bunch of flowers in a jug on the right, next to two parrots (red-faced lovebirds); painted in light, sober colours on a black background; signed: P/B 1617.
Provenance
Transferred from Altenburg to the Gotha Kunstkammer before 1764. Date of loss unknown; sold at auction 61, cat. No. 86610 in Munich at Weinmüller; acquired in 1957 by the Adolf and Luisa Haeuser Foundation for Art and Cultural Preservation for the Historical Museum Frankfurt am Main - Inv.No. B.1956.11 there.
