The painting had been in the Curt Glaser collection since 1927 and was possibly acquired directly by the artist. In 1933, he gave it to his brother Paul Glaser for safekeeping. From 1934/1936 it was in the possession of Albert Otten (formerly: Ottenheimer). Provenance after Otten's death remains unclear. 2007: the restitution and compensation claims of the community of heirs after Prof Glaser were settled by means of a settlement
