Description

Village at a kind of Chausee with water pond with 3 or 4 houses made of reddish stones, at the door of one house there is a man with a woman with red clothing. On the Chauseeweg a man with a boy on his hand and a small dog. On the left corner towers of Bentheim Castle. With a expert report from Privy Councillor Max J. Friedländer.

in the Belgian government's wanted list: „Ruisdael, Jacob van (vers. 1628 – 1682), Paysage. Quelques petits lacs avec trois ou quatre maisons rouges. Quelques personnages. A gauche, les tours du château de Bentheim. Bois. 55 x 65. Signé. Coll. Mme. T. Sichel, Brüssel 457 – 08 – 7."

James and Anna Tuchler, Berlin; Johanna Thea Sichel née Tuchler, Mainz (daughter); given into safekeeping at Ulrix in the Rue van Moer in Brussels in May 1940 and collected from there on 18 June 1940 by four officers of the Devisenschutzkommando Belgium (from the Rue Guimard), one of whom was called Lubinski; after 1945 Treuhandverwaltung für Kulturgut Munich; whereabouts unknown
