Description
The St Bavo church looms over the step gables of the nearest houses; a street branches off to the right; the corner house, built in the Italian style, belongs to the Ivoi family; on the water, on can see two boats from which goods have been unloaded; houses and and streets are bathed in the typical whitish sunlight of the province of Holland, which was preferably reproduced by this master.

From the collection of duke Ernest II of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg (cf. 1826 inventory). […]. In 1935 in reorganized exhibition (file 3405); in 1943 still in the museum (catalog 1943, sheet 119); present until the end of January 1946; current location: Pushkin Museum Moscow, object 101028, no. ЭЖ-785 ("Blick auf den Handelshafen Haarlem" 32 x 40.1 cm); the painting was shown at the Pushkin Museum's exhibition 'Kriegsbedingt verbrachte Kulturgüter' in Moscow in the spring of 1995.
