Description
Old copy after Gerard ter Borch the Younger (KHM Vienna, inventory no. GG 588); a young girl, wearing a grey dress, a yellow jacket trimmed with swansdown and a tulle bonnet on her head, sits at a table and peels apples; on the table are a dish with apples and a candle; next to her, there is a little girl with blonde curls and a wide-brimmed, feather-trimmed hat, who looks at her; a map of Europe is fastened to the wall.
Provenance
From the collection of duke August of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg (cf. 1826 inventory). Part of the paintings discarded in 1897 (see file); whereabouts unknown.
