Bust portrait of a lady in three-quarter profile with curly hairdo and golden earrings. She is wearing a white, elegant dress with a blue scarf. The titles „Bildnis einer jungen Dame in weissem Kleid und blauem Schal“(Portrait of a young lady in a white dress and a blue scarf), „Bildnis einer Dame mit blauem Schal“ (Portrait of a lady with a blue scarf) and „Junge Dame in weissem Kleid und blauem Schal“ (Young lady in a white dress and a blue scarf) have been survived.
The work is the counterpart to the artist's „Junge Dame in weißem Kleid mit rotem Schal“ (Young Lady in White Dress with Red Scarf), which is also in federal ownership.
The work is signed and dated below centre "Waldmüller 1829".
