Ansuchen des Sohnes Leopold/Löwy Haftel Spur wird hiermit wahrheitsgetreu bestätigt, daß er hier in Tarnow allgemein bekannt sei, daß Herr Josef Juda Haftel mit Frau Ester Spur beide aus Tarnow vor mehr als 40 Jahren nach mosaischem Ritus getraut wurden u. bis zu ihrem Ableben in ehelicher Gemeinschaft gelebt haben. Abraham Schnur (also: Avraham Abba'le Schnur) was born in Tarnów in 1857. He assumed the position of Chief Rabbi of Auschwitz (Yiddish: Oshpitzin) probably around 1880, succeeding Rabbi Szlomo Halberstam. In 1899 he returned to his native town of Tarnów, where he also served as chief rabbi. He died in Tarnów in 1917. His grave can still be found today in the Jewish cemetery there.

Leopold/Löwy Haftel, born on 2.2.1859 in Tarnów, died on 17.5.1942 in Theresienstadt. Cause of death: bronchopneumonia.

Plumber's assistant to his father (documented 1880), later master plumber (documented 1890-1900). As a Jewish master plumber he applied to the Regional Court Brno/Brünn in 1915 for the registration of the company Leopold Haftel in the Commercial Register for Private Individuals - the object of the company was plumbing, the company had its registered office in Brünn, Josefov No. 38. In 1930 Leopold Haftel applied for the registration of the company Leopold Haftel, Factory for Metal and Ironware in Brünn, Bratislavska Street (originally Josefov) No. 38, when his children Otto, Eugen and Viktor joined the company. After the occupation of Czechoslovakia, the company, which was considered Jewish property, was placed under forced administration. On 29 March 1942, Leopold Haftel was deported from Brno on transport Ae-651 to Theresienstadt, where he died.

Wife: Ernestine Haftel (née Joffe). Married to Leopold/Löwy Haftel on 10 August 1890 in Trebitsch (Třebíč) in southwest Moravia. (Ester is the Jewish name, later she probably calls herself (German) Ernestine, like Löwy and Leopold).
