Restoration 1944 by Eugen Heim, Peterhof.

Finding on the reverse:

An illegible number in red chalk on the bottom right.

Centre top on metal clip ‘Ms 63 1/2 h 1,50’.

Provenance

The painting was purchased at the auction on 5 June 1944 by the auction house Joseph Koch, Kaiser-Wilhelm-Str. 20, Worms, for 2,200 RM.

The painting was purchased at auction by Dr Illert. Koch himself drew the attention of the art collections to the painting.
