Faience roof rider: Fo dogs, squatting on their hind legs
Collection Eduard Fuchs, acquired between 1912-1922 and in his possession until 1933; 25.10.1933 confiscation by the Gestapo; forced sale (payment of Reichsfluchtsteuer) in 1937 by his daughter Gertraud Fuchs: auction at Auktionshaus Rudolph Lepke Berlin (catalogue 2115, p. 11). On 15.10 and on 16.10.1937 two exhibits of this ridge turret series were auctioned under no. 106: "EIN PAAR FAYENCE-DACHREITER. Sitzende Fabelhunde; uni grün glasiert. Höhe 15 cm. Ming".
According to the annotated Lepke catalogue (Kunsthistorische Bibliothek Den Haag) auctioned by the Lepke commissioner Carl Braunstein, Berlin-Lichtenrade, Straße 6a Nr. 25 for RM 44,- (No estimate). The copy of the minutes of the auction 2115 at the Reichskammer für Bildende Künste notes in typewritten form the client "Brandt", unknown to me so far, and confirms the price of RM 44 (Landesarchiv Berlin, A Rep. 243-04 Reichskammer für bildende Künste - Landesleitung Berlin); whereabouts unknown
