Description
in full figure, life-size, standing, in front view, the left foot slightly advanced. The broad-brimmed sombrero is pressed into the forehead of the lean, beardless head, the slender body is wrapped in a cloak, called sequedila, which reaches down to the upper boots; inscribed lower right: Recuerda a la Sa de Flersheim, J. Zuloaga

1908 as a gift from the artist; Martin and Florence Flersheim Collection, Frankfurt/Main; probably in the Flersheim removal goods in Amsterdam 1937/38, taken out there - further fate unknown; [...]; according to the catalogue exhibition Bilbao 2019 in private collection
